BIG TRAVEL ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi guys!

WE HAVE BIG HUGE ENORMOUS NEWS! WE WANT TO TELL YOU GUYS EVERYTHING AND NOW WE FINALLY CAN!

(Excuse us for the over-enthusiastic big letters, we’re just really, really happy).

Like you saw in our announcement video (X), we decided that we wanted to go on a big trip, but the options were so wide and ofcourse, we couldn’t choose.

We let the darts decide and…

for 3 months….

TO THE USA AND CANADA!

(It sounds kinda cool, don’t you think?)

Okay, enough bragging about the destination, we had a lot to arrange before we could actually be happy. We will leave on the 4th of April, so a lot should be arranged!

Where are we going to sleep? What will we eat? What will we visit and how will we go to the next activity or city? The most important question of it all: How much is everything going to cost?

We first set up a budget list in which we divided all the categories like food, WIFI, activities, transport… and so on. Then we searched on the internet for couples that already did a road trip through America and/or Canada. We were curious about how much other couples spend on a trip of 3 months.

Eventually we found all the information on the budget we needed and so we were ready to plan the trip! (We will give you guys a complete overview of the budget after the trip, because now we have no clue if we’re going to make this budget, or not).

The main question while planning this tips was: how will we travel? Will we hire a car? Shall we take a taxi every time? (Well, our budget wasn’t quite allowing us to take 12548 taxis every day, so this wasn’t an option).

We decided to travel with a van and a car (not at the same time, silly). We will travel on the west coast of the North-America and Canada with a van for 2 months. This van is the T17 Camper Truck of CruiseAmerica. The last month, we will take a plane to NYC and we will travel the East Coast and Canada on that side with a rental car and we will sleep in AirBNB’s/hostels…

Okay, to have an idea is one… to book everything and to make sure the cars are ready when we are there, that’s two…

But luckily, there is Kilroy! This is a travel organisation that helps people to plan and book their trip! We just went inside, had a one-hour talk with one of the consultants and he made sure we booked the flight tickets, our van and a rental car! We could chose many more options to book, so if you’re planning a huge trip like we do, we definitely recommend Kilroy.

So that leaves us with the route right now… Ief is working so hard on that one at the moment and I must say he’s doing a GREAT job! We will not yet explain what we will visit, because that’s a surprise ofcourse!
